The Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, reaffirmed her unconditional support to seeker mothers, to whom she reiterated her personal and institutional support.
“You know that we are here with a firm commitment to continue working. I have always said that we cannot put ourselves in your shoes or feel your pain, but every day, this Administration will try to get closer to ensuring that you have the best conditions to search safely and find your loved ones”, said the Governor.
During an open dialogue, independent seekers and representatives of groups from various municipalities in Guanajuato, expressed concerns, doubts and requests to the Governor and the heads of state agencies.
This is the first meeting that Libia has had with seekers, after assuming office as Governor.
Among the actions participants agreed is the institutional strengthening of the State Commission for Victim Assistance and the State Search Commission, which will allow the continuation of work in the field.
“It is a commitment that we make and that will be reflected in the budget,” said the Governor, they will also work on professionalization and speed up of the forensic identification process.
They also talked about the consolidation of a memorial site in the municipality of Salvatierra, this memorial will help to make the disappearance of people visible and will honor the victims.
There will be a Specialized Group for the Protection of seekers, attached to the State Public Security Forces. This group will guarantee support and accompaniment in field searches with respect and empathy.
Meanwhile through the approach with local authorities in the 46 municipalities, the Municipal Search Cells project will be strengthened.
Also, there will be a new transversal model for caring for victims to involve all departments, with medical and psychological care, scholarships, food and social support for the mothers who are searching for victims and their families, in addition to strengthening life projects with training in productive activities and entrepreneurial opportunities, in order to have a complementary income.
Libia Dennise recalled that in each of the positions she has held, such as Local Representative, Secretary of Government, Secretary of Social and Human Development, and now as head of the State Executive, she has embraced the cause of the seekers, who she said, deserve a dignified treatment from each public servant who assists them in their search.
