Libia calls to reaffirm commitment to security in Guanajuato

The Governor-Elect of the State of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, received command of the Public Security Forces of the State of Guanajuato -FSPE- right after midnight today.

After paying tribute to the fallen officers in the line of duty, the Governor-elect and the outgoing Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, paid tribute to the National Flag and to the flag of Guanajuato, and transferred command at the facilities of the General Police Station of the Public Security Forces of the State of Guanajuato.

“We know and are very aware that security work is not a task for the police forces alone, but for the entire society,” said the Governor-elect.

After reviewing the various groups that make up the State Public Security Forces, Libia urged them to respect the integrity and safeguard of citizens, emphasizing their role in being a Government of the People.

“Today, as I assume the mandate of the citizens, I want to ask you for your maximum effort, to put all your capacity and all your talent into the security of Guanajuato”, said Libia.

“Always conduct yourselves with honesty and ethics, because you are now also the face of this new beginning; I am sure that I can count on all of you”, said the Governor.

The next Secretary of Government, Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, and the next Secretary of Security and Peace, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, were present at this ceremony; also present were the Commander of the 16th Military Zone, General Francisco Javier Zubia Gonzalez and the General Coordinator of the National Guard in Guanajuato, General Rogelio Garcia Perez.
