“In Mexico, what should unite us must be the defense of our sovereignty. The defense and unity around the economic sectors that have given so much not only to the country but also through exports have made countries that are now trading partners strong. We cannot treat friends as rivals. We cannot treat those who have been trading partners as enemies,” said the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, at the inauguration of the 92nd Edition of SAPICA.

“Today I want to express our full support for the Government of Mexico, in the support that it must have from the State Governments in the face of the tariffs that have been announced,” said Libia.

In light of the imposition of 25% tariffs on Mexico by the United States, the State Executive mentioned that in Guanajuato they will promote respect for international treaties on trade, of which Mexico and the United States are part.
“Today is the time to remain united as sectors, to continue supporting industry and local companies, to continue encouraging small, medium and large companies to generate value chains that allow us to move forward in this and all sectors,” said the Governor of Guanajuato.

“I want to give a broad recognition to the companies that make up the great community of the footwear industry in our State, to recognize today all their capacity, because you have shown the spirit and character that we, the people of Guanajuato, have; that we do not give up in the face of adversity, but rather, we always see a way to overcome it and move forward,” said Libia Dennise.
