“I call on the authorities who are assuming office today to commit themselves to the municipalities of Guanajuato, to work for those causes that should unite us and to always put people’s projects above personal visions”, said the Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.
Libia witnessed the inauguration of the Guanajuato City Council 2024-2027, headed by Samantha Smith Gutierrez.
The Governor called on the incoming municipal authorities in all of Guanajuato to respond to the people’s trust with honesty and commitment.
In this New Beginning, it is clear that, in Guanajuato and in its municipalities, differences must be left aside to walk together for a better Guanajuato, said the Governor.
“This will be a government open to all voices, that understands that it is in this plurality that Guanajuato shows its beauty. Today is a time for conciliation, reconciliation and building, because there are many challenges before us and only if we work as a team, if we manage to build, beyond the natural differences that we may have, today the only vision must be to work for a better Guanajuato,” said Libia Dennise.
The Governor acknowledged all the women who have fought to open spaces in the public life of Guanajuato and recognized Samantha Smith for being the second woman to govern the State Capital.
“You can count on your Governor, the capital of Guanajuato has in me a woman who will work with all her effort, with all her heart and with all her passion to leave a better Guanajuato for our daughters and sons”, said the Governor.
This Solemn Session of the Oath of Office of the City Council 2024–2027, was held at the Juarez Theater on the first minute of this Thursday, October 10.
