The Governor of the People sent to the State Congress a package of initiatives to harmonize more than 70 local regulations to recognize equality, gender perspective and inclusive language

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, announced the presentation to the State Congress of a package of initiatives to harmonize more than 70 local regulations with principles of equality, gender perspective and inclusive language.
During her Second Regional Report to residents of the Northeast of the State, the Governor said that her arrival in government also meant the arrival of the causes of Guanajuatense women.
“All the women of Guanajuato came into government with me. Your voices and your struggles, your causes and your aspirations,” she said.
The announcement came a day after the commemoration of International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8, a date that recalls the historical struggle of millions of women for their rights, said the Governor.
Among the reforms sent to Congress is the modification of the Law on Women’s Access to a Life Free of Violence for the State of Guanajuato, which recognizes various forms of violence against women and strengthens the principle of gender parity.
According to the State Government, the modifications seek to guarantee women’s full access to their rights and strengthen substantive equality in local legislation.
“You have and will always have the support of your Governor. This is and will continue to be a government that is an ally of women,” she said.
