Leon/Gto News
The Tecnolions team from the Guanajuato Azteca Talents Secondary School in Leon was crowned international champion once again by obtaining First Place in Robot Design and Third Place in Alliance Performance at the Florida Sunshine Invitational tournament, organized by FIRST LEGO League Challenge in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States.

From June 24th to 28th, the competition brought together 99 teams from 20 countries including Australia, England, Germany, Italy, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, and the United States. On this global stage, Tecnolions demonstrated its high academic standing, creativity, English proficiency, and teamwork skills, successfully placing in two of the tournament’s four main categories.

The team is made up of nine outstanding students:
From the first grade of secondary school:
- José Carlo de la Rosa Muñoz, Lizeth Jiménez Guzmán, and Valentina Zuñiga Lara
From the second grade:
- Dylan Santiago Ramos Loza, Alfredo Rivera Muñoz, and Iker Alejandro Ortega García
From the third grade:
- Nahelly Valentina Ruvalcaba Flores, Corina Vanessa Muñoz Rodríguez, and Jacob Collazo Lázaro

Under the mentorship of Uzziel Fabian Villegas Escobar and the support of their coach Lucero Garcia, Tecnolions has consolidated an education project that inspires the entire community.
First place in Robot Design recognized the structural, functional, and innovative excellence of the prototype built by the team.
Third place in Partnership Performance was the result of outstanding collaboration with the Hydro Hackers team from Idaho, USA, during the team competitions.

In addition to their technical achievements, the students conducted interviews and gave presentations entirely in English, demonstrating not only their technological competencies but also their total readiness, discipline, and commitment.

This triumph not only elevates Guanajuato, but also places Mexico on the international map of education robotics, demonstrating the positive impact of integrating the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) approach into elementary schools.

Tecnolions has maintained a steady track record of success. Its key achievements include first and third place in the Robothon 2025 competition at the Tecnologico de Monterrey, Leon Campus; multiple participations in national and international FIRST LEGO League tournaments; and representation in global competitions such as Roborave Taiwan and an international tournament in Sydney, Australia.

The People’s Government and the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato reaffirm their commitment to education excellence, pedagogical innovation, and the development of future leaders.
