Leon is the economic, political and entertainment epicenter of the State, says the Governor
In 2022 Leon offers 115 events and more than 400 activities for all people

“In Guanajuato we are very proud to have a city like Leon, it has evolved spectacularly to become one of the largest cities in Mexico”, said the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, as he launched the tourism promotion program “Viva Leon, a living and vibrant city”.
This campaign was presented to the press, to publicize the agenda of events and the diversity of tourism, business, services and entertainment offered in Leon.
Today Leon is a host city for large international events, such as the Industrial Transformation Mexico of the Hannover Messe, the best fair in the world in industry 4.0; the World Rally Championship and the International Balloon Festival, among other top events.
Leon has market intelligence and diversity in the service infrastructure, and the best, the Governor highlighted, is the excellent land and air connectivity, with flights to the main airports in the United States.
A bet for Leon and the Guanajuato of the future is the Leon MX District; it is a polygon formed by the Leon Fair, the Explora Science Park, the Poliforum, the Guanajuato Cultural Forum, the Central State Library and the Arts Unit of the University of Guanajuato.
The Leon MX District is a world-class public space where families enjoy culture and entertainment, and it is also one of the main economic engines of the city as a first-world quality fairground.
“It is a great world-class public space,” said the Governor.
Leon is a city with good road infrastructure, parks and sports facilities, with professional teams like in basketball with “Las Abejas”, soccer with “La Fiera”, and baseball with “Bravos”.
“The growth of Leon has been spectacular in the last fifty years; It is the economic, political and entertainment epicenter of the State” said Rodriguez Vallejo.
Once in Leon, as a complement to the visit, there is the rest of the State to get to know it quickly and safely as it has the best road network in the country.
The State offers diversity to national and international tourists, where culture tops the list of what to do in Guanajuato; there are World Heritage Cities, Magical Towns and Archaeological Zones.
It is no coincidence, said the Governor, that Guanajuato is a preferred destination for tourism, even if the State does not have a beach.
“They have to come to live the experience of this great city and from there visit the entire State; Guanajuato is a wonderful place, said the Governor.
The strength of all
The Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, said that there is no better example of union and with the strength of all, it was posible to build a city like Leon.
Ale said that for years, Leon was only the World Footwear Capital, and that gave strength to a first class city like today, with activities for all people and pockets.
“We are going to continue holding events of all kinds, we want Leon keep on vibrating and pumping permanently so that people offer better services,” said the Mayor of Leon.
