Juventudes joins the Government of the People

The Governor emphasized that listening to young people guarantees a better future for Guanajuato

For the first time, 21 young people have been appointed as representatives in Secretaries and Undersecretaries

For the first time in Guanajuato’s history, the voice of young people is being directly integrated into the decision-making processes of the People’s Government.

Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo swore in the members of the first Juventudes Cabinet, comprised of 21 young people who will represent this sector in the various Secretaries and Sub-Secretaries of the State Administration.

This historic exercise recognizes young people as key actors in the construction of public policies, not only as recipients of programs, but as protagonists able to propose, analyze and transform their environment with ideas, social commitment and a vision for the future.

The State Governor noted that the integration of this Cabinet opens a real space for participation so that young people can engage in direct dialogue with the Government and contribute to build solutions for the present and future of the State.

“We want this to be a space where we don’t talk about young people, but rather talk with young people, with you, about what worries you, what concerns you, what makes you dream and inspires you,” said Libia.

The Governor emphasized that this event sets a precedent in the public life of Guanajuato, by opening for the first time a formal space for the representation of the young Guanajuatenses within the State Government.

The Juventudes Cabinet is composed of 21 young people, 11 men and 10 women, and is gender-balanced, as is the People’s Government Cabinet. Its members will participate in the design, monitoring, and improvement of public initiatives in strategic areas such as education, health, the economy, culture, tourism, the environment, and security, among other.

The State Governor emphasized that young people not only represent the future, but also an active force in the transformation of Guanajuato’s present.

This first Juventudes Cabinet emerges as a formal space for participation, dialogue and training that will strengthen the leadership of the young Guanajuatenses, promote projects with real impact and consolidate an unprecedented experience of participatory governance in Guanajuato.
