“Today in Irapuato, we are one with the people. In this land of the industrial corridor, we come to give an account of this First Government Report, because it is thanks to your trust that we are here today,” said the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, at the conclusion of her First Government Report, which she took to each region of Guanajuato for the first time.

From the Lienzo Charro Ignacio Leon Ornelas, at full capacity and with the support of thousands of Guanajuatenses from the municipalities of the Central Region of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise announced 194 million pesos in investment in social infrastructure projects.

The Governor announced that the bidding process for the Villas de Irapuato Boulevard, the stretch from the bridge over the Guanajuato River to the Irapuato-San Cristobal-Rancho Nuevo de la Cruz highway, will begin on March 17. This project will require an investment of 101 million pesos.

Also, Libia noted the commitment to build the Bimbo Bridge with an investment of 350 million pesos. “These are projects that the people of Irapuato have asked us for, and they are projects that will become a reality with the Government of the People!” said Libia.

The Governor said that this year, social infrastructure projects will be done in all municipalities, with a total investment of 722 million pesos earmarked for social infrastructure.

These resources will be invested in:

  • Basic infrastructure, including drinking water, sewage, and electrification projects, with an investment of 194 million pesos
  • Community Infrastructure, which includes street paving and public space rehabilitation: where we will allocate more than 355 million pesos
  • The New Start in My Home Program, which focuses on housing improvements: we will allocate more than 151 million pesos
  • And from the My Neighborhood in Color Program, which paints facades to improve the appearance of homes, there will be a grant of more than 20 million pesos

“These projects go directly to the benefit of the people,” she said.

“Today I want to share with you everything we have achieved together, which makes it possible for us to say, ‘We are one with the people.’ Here we make decisions with the people and for the people. This is a government that listens, responds, and resolves, because only together can we build the future we all deserve,” said Libia Dennise.

Libia noted that this First Government Report includes a global investment of more than 27 billion pesos, applied in more than 375 thousand works and actions.

The Governor noted important actions that have been carried out in these first months of the People’s Government, such as the renewal of the security and justice areas; and the presentation of the new Operational Coordination strategy of the New Anti-Crime Intelligence Force (CONFIA).

“I know that in Irapuato, as in other parts of the State and the Country, extortion has hurt families and businesses. For that purpose, we created the Anti-Extortion Squad, which in this short period of time has already achieved significant results,” she said.

“I want to make one thing very clear: We will not allow crime to take over what Guanajuato families have built with so much effort. We will continue working and we will restore peace to Irapuato and all the municipalities of our beloved Guanajuato,” said the Governor.

Libia Dennise also noted that this is the first State Administration in Guanajuato to have a gender-balanced cabinet. Furthermore, the ALIADAS Strategy was created, which includes 20 programs benefiting women. These programs include support to boost their economy and start a business, scholarships for their education, a health insurance plan with 10 free medical services, pension action, food assistance, legal counseling, and more.

One of these flagship programs of ALIADAS is the Pink Card, which today is also a fulfilled commitment. “We know that when a woman advances, we all advance; that supporting a woman means supporting a family, and that expanding her economic capabilities opens up more opportunities for her development,” said Libia.

The Governor also highlighted the creation of the “Tu Puedes Guanajuato” Financial and Support Fund, which serves working people by providing them with loans to help them grow their family businesses: a beauty salon, a grocery store, or a small craft workshop.

In terms of education, there is the “Open the Door to Your Future” Program, which knocked on the doors of more than 15,000 homes to help students who dropped out of school.

During this administration, the State Institute of Culture was elevated to the level of a Secretary, to give it greater visibility and priority, since culture is a tool for social growth and peace.

The Governor noted that a few days ago “we started the Caravans with My Governor program. I am personally serving the citizens, and the government has come closer to the people, providing 6,778 procedures and services in communities throughout the State.”

Libia said that during the new administration, investments of more than 2 billion dollars have been attracted, with more than 4 thousand jobs committed that mean well-being and progress for the families of Guanajuato.

The Governor said that in Guanajuato we take care of the health of our people. That is why our Health System is the best system in the country, which places us as pioneers in addressing the right of all people to receive quality and close medical care.

Libia also said that the Secretary for Human Rights was created to be the cross-cutting axis on which this administration makes clear the commitment to unrestricted respect for human dignity. In addition to serving people with disabilities, Indigenous Peoples and Communities and Afro-Mexicans, migrants and their families, and for the first time, people of sexual and gender diversity.

Libia Dennise commented that water is a right and a priority. Therefore, a few days ago, a historic agreement was signed with the President of Mexico for more than 6.4 billion pesos, which will be used to improve irrigation technology in the countryside and benefit more than 25,000 producers in the region.

The State Governor said that Guanajuato’s countryside is a pillar of the national and international economy. Besides Guanajuato continues to consolidate its position as a tourism leader. In 2024, we achieved an economic impact of more than 51 billion pesos, breaking records and strengthening the sector.

Libia said that last year we achieved $4.5 billion in investment attraction, of which $2 billion was generated in the last quarter of last year, which corresponds to this New Beginning, generating more than 4,000 jobs, which means well-being and progress for Guanajuatense families.

“We are also the country’s leading non-border exporter. The Marca Guanajuato, synonymous with quality and local pride, has reached more than 7,000 businesses that have earned this certification,” said Libia.

“I’m thrilled to be here in the land of strawberries. Thank you for welcoming us, and I’d like to thank the mayors who are joining us for this report,” said the Governor, recalling the regional reports held in San Luis de la Paz, San Diego de la Union, Penjamo, and finally Irapuato, bringing this tour to a close.
