Guanajuato headquarters of the first meeting 2023 of the National Coordination of Migrant Assistance Offices in Mexico

Guanajuato received the representatives of the National Coordination of Migrant Assistance Offices of Mexico, to define the general lines of work that benefit the community and people from other countries that cross our country.
Juan Hernandez, Secretary for Migrants and International Affairs, as the national coordinator, said that an update proposal was also presented for the statutes of this organization in order to adapt them to the new reality of human mobility in Mexico and the world.
“Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo has clearly told us to count on Guanajuato, to work strategically and attend to migrants in a comprehensive manner”, said Hernandez.
The secretary explained that this event also served to define the board of directors that will help consolidate and shape the work plans of this group.
The distribution is as follows:
- Guanajuato, national coordinator
- Nuevo León, sub-coordinator
- Aguascalientes, technical secretary
- Michoacán, traditional región
- Baja California Norte, in charge of the northern región
- Guerrero, responsible of the southern zone
- Queretaro will serve the Central región
- Coahuila, as CONOFAM’s secretary of minutes
“As part of our activities, we had a series of talks on services and support programs for local governments, from the United States Consulate General, others on durable solutions from UNHCR, and the presentation of the interim coordinator of the regional program on Migration in Mexico by the IOM”, said Juan Hernandez.
