“Mexico needs the vision of the CONCAMIN leaders today more than ever; yes, Mexico moves forward, it is thanks to the businessmen of our country, who day by day make a prosperous Mexico”, said Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, at the closing of the Annual Meeting of Industrialists -RAI- 2023, organized by the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States -CONCAMIN-.
This is the last edition of the RAI where Diego Sinhue and Jose Antonio Abugaber Andonie serve as Governor of Guanajuato and President of CONCAMIN, respectively, as they complete their mandates.
The Governor said that the new scenarios require the business sector and society to reinvent themselves and adapt to a constantly changing environment, therefore, a leap was made to digital culture, electronic commerce among micro, small and medium-sized companies, and at RAI these current issues and future vision were discussed.
Rodriguez Vallejo recognized the work of the Mexican industrial sector and especially the industrialists of Guanajuato who, with vision and commitment, have been fundamental for the growth of the local economy and the development of Mexico.
“Companies are the ones that generate wealth and jobs for Mexican families, not the government; the Government creates the conditions, we understand that very well in Guanajuato and that is why today we recognize all your efforts and I appreciate your solidarity and your support throughout my mandate”, said the Governor.
“I want to tell you that you count on Guanajuato, with the State Government as an ally; let’s continue working for a strong Mexico, with a vision for the future, that becomes a world leader in economic, industrial and social matters. We can achieve it if we are united, if we work as a team and maintain a rule of law and freedoms”, he said.
“Thank you again, your participation has made this Annual Meeting of Industrialists a success,” said the Governor.
Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo participated in the ‘Panel of Governors: Security and Rule of Law’, within the framework of the RAI, where he explained that the State Government takes actions towards social well-being and security in a strategic way that is close to the social demands, along with the three levels of government and society.
The path consisted, he said, in recovering the territory that belongs to the citizens, undermining the finances of criminal groups and dismantling criminal groups, but above all, of strengthening the institutions.
“The key is to have strong police officers, in strong municipalities, strong institutions, that allow peace and legality to be given to the population,” said the Governor.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to crime prevention to anticipate actions that undermine the good direction of citizens.
Rodriguez Vallejo explained that in Guanajuato crimes have decreased on a large scale in the last five years, according to the National Survey of Victimization and Perception of Public Security, -ENVIPE- 2023, of the INEGI.
For every 100 thousand inhabitants, since 2019 Guanajuato has decreased its crime incidence and is below the national average in 2022:
- A decrease of 23.13% compared to 2021
- In the victimization rate, Guanajuato is below the national average with a decrease of 30.89%; that is 17 places less than in 2021
- The perception of insecurity fell 3.7%
- Intentional homicide decreased 23.35% in July 2023, compared to September 2018
“We have a long way to go, but there is a clear route that is working for us,” said Diego Sinhue.
The Governor of the State of Oaxaca, Salomon Jara Cruz, participated in the Panel, while the President of CONCAMIN, Jose Antonio Abugaber Andonie, served as moderator.
The Governor of Guanajuato closed the Sustainable Industrial Development Summit where leaders and representatives of business associations, government and civil society analyzed the trends and challenges of industrial development, identified actions and policies that strengthen the business environment, the attraction of investments and promotion of long-term economic and sustainable development.
The participants discussed the axes:
- Nearshoring in Mexico: Global Competitiveness and Local Opportunities
- The next level of Industry 4.0: Resilient digital ecosystems
- Globalization 2.0: The new era in global value chains
“I am sure that these issues and the shared experiences will be a strong impetus to continue working for greater growth and greater competitiveness of the economies that make up this Alliance”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
