Thanks to dialogue, collaboration and intelligence, Guanajuato has registered 11 consecutive months with a reduction in homicides and the lowest number in homicides in January in the last eight years
The Governor of Guanajuato and the President of Mexico lead efforts to restore peace in Guanajuato

“We will continue working together to deliver results for the people,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, acknowledging the willingness and collaboration of the federal authorities present in Guanajuato, with whom they are working to restore peace to the State.

“If there is one thing that has been a priority for the Federal Government, led by our President of Mexico, as well as for our State Government in Guanajuato, it is restoring peace and well-being for all families. That has been the guiding principle since the beginning of our administrations. In Guanajuato, we have found openness, dialogue, collaboration, and coordination to achieve the results we can deliver to our people today,” said the Governor during the morning press conference held at the XII Military Region headquarters in Irapuato.

“Thank you for the welcome to Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, with whom we have worked in a coordinated manner on security and other issues,” noted the President of Mexico.
Figures from the Mexican government show 11 consecutive months of reduction in intentional homicides and the lowest January in this area in the last eight years; in addition, there was a 65 percent average daily decrease in victims of intentional homicides per month in the State from September 2024 to January 2026.

“The coordinated security strategy is yielding results, and we will continue working as a team because we believe that this high-level policy is what builds,” said the State Governor, who reaffirmed the commitment of the People’s Government to work as a team with the Government of Mexico.
Also present at this morning press conference were Rosa Icela Rodriguez, Secretary of the Interior, and Omar Garcia Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of Mexico, who acknowledged Governor Libia Dennise’s presence and willingness to work together on security matters.

The CBTIS No. 292 High School is inaugurated in Leon
Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo was with the President of Mexico, at the inauguration of the CBTIS No. 292 High School in Leon.
This new school, located in the Los Angeles neighborhood, is part of the Comprehensive Plan of the National High School System of the New Mexican School, announced at the national level to respond to the growing demand for spaces in this education level.

The new high school has a capacity to serve up to 900 students in two shifts and began operations in the 2025–2026 school year with an initial enrollment of 302 students.
Its education offer is focused on strategic areas for the country’s economic and technological development, such as E-commerce, Semiconductors and Microelectronics, and Artificial Intelligence, providing young people with concrete tools for their integration into an increasingly digital and specialized world.

The investment for this project was 48 million pesos, with 17 million pesos allocated to equipment. To make it possible, the People’s Government donated a plot of land measuring over 30,000 square meters, reaffirming its commitment to public education.
“Education is a priority for us; supporting young people is what guides our work. That is why today we celebrate the opening of these facilities, which will provide us with another space for our youun Guanajuatenses,” the Governor said.
