Guanajuato is positioned in first place in Mexico in patent applications

“Innovation transforms lives, which is why in Guanajuato we continue to bet on knowledge”, said the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo as he met with inventors of the MentePatente Program.
The Governor informed that Guanajuato is positioned in the first positions in Mexico in patent applications submitted to IMPI.
With the MentePatente Program, the State Government, through IDEA GTO, seeks to guide and accompany Guanajuatense inventors on the journey to protect industrial property through advice and different activities.
“I feel very happy to live with talented, intelligent and creative people from our Guanajuato. Inventors that break paradigms, that with determination and firm decisions today have a patent registered with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property,” said the Governor.
Through IDEA GTO, 100 inventors have been monitored through the MentePatente Program, which promotes the protection of industrial property, providing support and advice, and strengthening intellectual property in companies, entrepreneurs, higher education institutions and public and private research centers.
According to the IMCO Mexican Competitiveness Index, Guanajuato is ranked 1st. place in patent applications per 100 thousand people of the Economically Active Population, the Governor reiterated.
Rodriguez Vallejo said that the Mindfacture Valley Strategy has been a success, guiding Guanajuato along the route of innovation, knowledge, science and technology.
“Today we once again see that taking Guanajuato from manufacture to Mindfacture is a reality, it is something that is already happening”, noted the Governor who recognized IDEA GTO for this initiative.
The Guanajuatense inventors in the event thanked the Government for the support to develop their projects that aim to improve the quality of life of the population.
The General Director of IDEA GTO, Juan Antonio Reus participated in the event and said that with MentePatente 2022-2023 inventors have been trained and 100 patent applications have been submitted through financing and by holding 4 patent writing workshops and more than 300 personalized consultancies.
