IECA and the Government of Catalonia sign an agreement to strengthen training and employability

Leon/Gto News

In the event “More people, more talent: key competencies, challenges and opportunities”, the State Training Institute (IECA) and the Government of Catalonia through its Public Employment Service (SOC), formalized a collaboration agreement to improve training and employability, as well as strengthening strategies in job training in key sectors such as the automotive, aeronautical and digitalization industries in both territories.

The signed agreement reaffirms the cooperation between both institutions, allowing for the implementation of mobility programs, skills certification, and the creation of continuing professional development opportunities.

IECA Director General Salomon Ceballos Ochoa said, “Through this agreement, we will establish mobility opportunities for students and faculty, promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Thanks to the support of the Erasmus program, we will facilitate internships in companies in both Guanajuato and Catalonia, allowing our students to gain international experience and strengthen their skills in highly competitive work environments.”

Lleir Daban, Delegate of the Government of Catalonia in Mexico and Central America, said that his government and the Government of Guanajuato, through the IECA, are united by a conviction of progress. “We must have a strategic vision of the future. We cannot allow the transformation to leave anyone behind. That is why we work through public action, through governments, to ensure that this does not happen. We need training to be more productive with active employment policies, with dual vocational training and with an orientation towards quality employment and resilience. That is why we cannot work on this alone. We have to form alliances, and what better way to do it than with Guanajuato. Alliances like today’s set a precedent for moving forward together into the future.”

Over the past four years, the Government of Catalonia and the Government of Guanajuato have collaborated through conferences, webinars, and forums on topics such as science, innovation, technology, artificial intelligence, and Mindfacture. During this period, 19 conferences have been held, both virtual and in-person, with the participation of experts from both regions, aimed at professionals and other key sectors.

Thanks to this agreement, the IECA and the Government of Catalonia are exploring new opportunities for cooperation and consolidating strategic agreements to enhance the development of skills and competencies among the population.

With this agreement, the People’s Government, through the IECA, and the Government of Catalonia strengthen their commitment to the education and vocational training of the people of Guanajuato, promoting the talent and training of workers to meet the needs of the global labor market.
