“Guanajuato advances with new investments, positioning itself as one of the states with the best labor market performance in the country, surpassing the national average, according to data from the Mexican Social Security Institute,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

“We are a State with labor peace, and that labor peace has been built on the basis of effort, dialogue, and the rule of law. There are more than 1,125,000 registered jobs, with an annual increase of more than 20,500 new jobs, representing a growth of 1.9%; this figure is higher than the national average, placing Guanajuato fourth in the nation in job creation”, said the Governor during the announcement of a new investment by the American company The Home Depot in Guanajuato.

Ten years after the opening of its last store in Salamanca in 2015, The Home Depot chose the State to invest more than 1.2 billion pesos in three new stores, creating 300 direct jobs.
“Today we confirm that in Guanajuato we have managed to build a favorable environment for investment, an environment that generates certainty at a time when authorities, capitals, and investors are able to converge on points of agreement to generate capital that benefits the people of our State,” said the Governor.
This company, dedicated to the sale of products and services for home improvement, construction, remodeling, and maintenance, will build and operate new stores in San Miguel de Allende, Leon, and Guanajuato.

Construction and opening projects in San Miguel de Allende will take place in 2026, and in Leon and Guanajuato City in 2027.
“We know that in this investment, Guanajuato competed with other Countries, with other States, and you decided to keep the capital here in Guanajuato. This is a sign of the trust you have in our State, and today we reaffirm that your trust is in good hands,” said the Governor.

During Libia Dennise’s administration, Guanajuato has accumulated 14 investment projects totaling more than $2.14 billion and creating 4,883 jobs.
The Home Depot currently employs 550 people across its five stores in Guanajuato: two in Leon, and one each in Celaya, Irapuato, and Salamanca.
