The Guanajuato Health System offers coverage to patients in the organ transplant protocol

The Gto Health System offers coverage to people who need an organ transplant.
The Secretary of Health, Ligia Arce Padilla, reported that the State Transplant Network is made up of public and private hospitals that have a license to perform transplants.
The numbers in transplants in 2023:
- 71 applications
- 100% accepted for admission
- 29.9% women
- 70.1% men
The program aims to improve the quality and life expectancy of people who need a transplant. Patient support consists of the supply of immunosuppressive medication for one year from the transplant date to avoid graft rejection.
Arce Padilla added that the immunosuppressant scheme is delivered, consisting of individual or combined medication.
Transplants are performed at:
- The Leon General Hospital
- Irapuato General Hospital
- Leon Pediatric Specialty Hospital
- The Bajio Regional High Specialty Hospital
All patients of any sex and age, who do not have social security can get the service.
From January to December 2023, the support requests have been attended to and resolved, sent through the Office of the Secretary of Health, the Governor’s Citizen House and to the population that go directly to the offices; being a total of 20 Citizen Attentions.
To provide the service CETRA has:
- A 24-hour toll-free line
11 calls are received per month requesting information about the registration process as a waiting recipient and as a voluntary donor of organs and tissues for transplant purposes and general information about the State program of transplants The number 477 780 9020 (CETRA switchboard) has been reinstated to increase service options
