As part of the Round Table on Combating Arms Trafficking and Best Practices Mexico and the United States, organized by the United States Embassy in Mexico, the North American Government delivered the Guanajuato Attorney General’s Office and the Public Security Secretary of Guanajuato, a joint recognition for holding the first place at of States with access to the e-Trace system.
The Department of Justice of the United States of America, through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, presented this joint recognition to the Secretary of Public Safety of Guanajuato, Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Apendinni and the Attorney General of Guanajuato, Carlos Zamarripa Aguirre, for demonstrating a high commitment and concern to contribute to the administration of justice to eradicate arms trafficking in an effort by the United States and Mexico.
The recognition indicates that both Guanajuato institutions completed 1,585 tracking requests in the 2022-2023 calendar year period. The e-Trace system is a technological tool that allows generating investigation leads in high-impact crimes, where firearms have been used.
The Government of Guanajuato, through the SSPEG and the FGE, participate as special guests in the Round Table held by the North American Embassy in Mexico, with the Mexico City as its headquarters, where Ambassador Ken Salazar inaugurated these works that take place on the 4th and 5th of December.
