More than 77,000 Guanajuatenses live in the country’s Capital city, and in 2024, they completed 5,214 procedures at this office

“We are bringing the government to where the people are, to where it is most needed,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, during her weekly program, Connecting with the People, broadcast from the Representation and Liaison Office of the Government of the State of Guanajuato in Mexico City (ORECDMX).

More than 77,000 Guanajuatenses live in this city. Therefore, as part of the policy of proximity and direct attention, the Governor presented, from the nation’s Capital city, the services offered by the ORECDMX, led by Juan Carlos Altamirano Gutierrez.

What does this Office do? This representation has two main functions:

• Represent Guanajuato before key national and international personalities
• Serve the Guanajuatense community living in Mexico City and surrounding areas

This office has proven to be a useful and necessary resource. So far during 2025, 2,891 procedures have been processed, and in 2024, more than 5,214 services were provided.

The procedures available include:

• Issuance and certification of certificates
• Searches and certified copies
• Comparisons, corrections, and marginal notes
• CURP review and correction
• Apostilles, nullities, and non-existences
• Payment of fees
• Official response
• Registration with SIDEA

“The states cannot be left out of the great potential that being in Mexico City generates, and of course, coming here is essential for me. It means making people aware of what we’re doing and continuing to develop strategies and alliances. But ultimately, I can’t be in Mexico City all the time. I have to govern from Guanajuato, and that’s why the presence of this representative office is so important,” the Governor explained.

Citizens can also reach out to receive advice on state services or request political, tourist, culinary, cultural, economic, or historical information about the State.

“We support not only our community with procedures, but also by promoting Guanajuato to embassies, companies, forums, and public and private organizations,” said Juan Carlos Altamirano.

The Governor announced the launch of a Help Desk for the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato (UVEG) at the ORECDMX facilities.

The goal is to provide direct services to the 18.7% of UVEG students residing in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, totaling more than 18,900. UVEG is the third-largest virtual university in terms of enrollment.
