For the third consecutive year, the State of Guanajuato will host the World Meetings Forum -WMF- Summit Guanajuato 2024, a MICE Tourism event (Congresses, Conventions, Incentives and Exhibitions, for its acronym in English) that has been carried out with great success in the World Heritage Cities of Guanajuato.
This year, from April 17 to 20, the WMF Summit was held in Guanajuato City -with the support of the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, through the Directorate of Specialized Segments-, in main MICE venues and tourist attractions in the cities such as Villa Maria Cristina, Antigua Trece, Plaza de San Roque, Auditorium of the University of Guanajuato, Hacienda Belloli, Old Hacienda Dolores de Barrera, Plaza San Fernando, Corazon Mexicano, Former Hacienda Trinidad, Casa Grande and the Embarcadero de la Presa de La Olla.
Meetings Tourism is one of the 9 segments promoted with greater emphasis by the Secretary of Tourism, an Office led by Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Guanajuato Tourism, thus positioning Guanajuato as a destination of excellence by having the infrastructure and supply.
MICE Tourism is also important for a city as it contributes to promote the destination and create a favorable image of it.
In this edition, 50 buyers among travel agencies, DMS’s, incentive agencies and meeting planners from the United States, Colombia and Mexico, registered 1,056 business appointments with local, national and international suppliers.
The companies gathered were Eventex, Novo, Destino in Travel, American Express, Global Business Travel, BCD, Mundo Joven, Campbell Scott Events, Emory University School of Medicine, Ven powered by Frosch and Sharp Healthcare; and Grupo Posadas, Belmond Hotels, Guanajuato Capital City Tourism Council, Tropical Incentives, Aimbridge Latam, Santa Fe Grupo Hotelero and Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende, among other.
In this second edition -the first edition, in 2022, was held in San Miguel de Allende- attendees were very satisfied by also enriching their knowledge with academic content and unique experiences in the World Heritage City.
“As Guanajuatenses and promoters of the industry, we have taken it upon ourselves to tell them all the benefits of Guanajuato. But in this edition, you (industry) were able to verify it personally”, said Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel.
