Monika Von Allwörden de Orozco, Honorary Consul of Germany in León, was recognized for establishing a bridge of friendship and collaboration between Germany and Guanajuato

Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the ceremony to award the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany to Monika Von Allwörden de Orozco, Consul Honorary in Leon.
This is the highest recognition that the Federal Republic grants for services to the common good.
“In Guanajuato we feel very proud of the important work that Monika Ilce Von Allwörden de Orozco has done, as Honorary Consul of Germany in Leon. A valuable woman who has known how to build with responsibility, devotion and courage, a powerful bridge of friendship and collaboration between Germany and Guanajuato”, said the Governor.
The German Embassy in Mexico awarded the Order of Merit, which is awarded to national and foreign citizens for political, economic-social and intellectual achievements, as well as for all special services to the Federal Republic of Germany, for example in the social and charitable.
Monika Ilce Von Allwörden de Orozco, received this award from Wolfgang Dold, Ambassador of Germany in Mexico; and Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, Governor of Guanajuato.
Von Allwörden de Orozco has an experience of more than 30 years working for the German Embassy in Mexico and for the last 12 years she has served as Honorary Consul.
“This work has given me the satisfaction of being awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit, I appreciate the support received from the Embassy to Germany, from the State and Municipal governments that I represent, especially the Government of Guanajuato”, said the Consul of Germany in Leon.
Last August she handed over the position to her brother Gerard Hugo Franz Anthonis Von Allwörden, however, after his sudden death, Monika continues to perform these functions.
Monika Ilce Von Allwörden de Orozco accompanies and supports more than 600 German citizens who live in Guanajuato in the process of birth certificates, birth records, passports, among other documents. As well as assisting them in doubts or when the loss of documents occurs.
With this award, Germany publicly acknowledges outstanding achievements to which it attaches particular importance.
