A growth in exports is reported by Guanajuato

During 2024 Guanajuato registered a growth in the numbers in exports compared to 2023

Luis Rojas, head of COFOCE, shared relevant data on the performance of exports from Guanajuato, which reached $36 billion, representing an 8.78% growth in 2024 compared to the previous year.

This increase is primarily due to the diversification and dynamism of key sectors such as the automotive, auto parts, metalworking, chemical, and fashion industries, which have shown sustained growth over the past decade.

“Guanajuato is one of the states with the greatest growth in exports. In the last six years, we have doubled the number of exporting companies, going from 1,000 to almost 2,000, and the goal is to reach 3,000 exporting companies in the coming years,” Rojas commented during his participation in the program Connecting with the People with the Governor of Guanajuato.

This result positioned Guanajuato as the state with the largest number of exporting SMEs in all of Mexico, demonstrating the strength of its business sector.

In the first six months of the People’s Government, the State of Guanajuato has received more than $2.147 billion in investments; the goal is to close the year with an investment of $3 billion.

Guanajuato’s economic development is aligned with sustainability principles and the need to innovate in production processes. Furthermore, Officials work to promote youth and female entrepreneurship.

COFOCE will offer free training workshops to learn about the new measures imposed by the United States. These include the “Certificates of Origin,” a key tool within the USMCA that allows products manufactured in Mexico, Canada, and the United States to access with preferential tariffs upon entering these markets.
