Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, guaranteed enough budget for the housing subsidy in Guanajuato at the inauguration of the Regional Housing Forum in the Bajio.
This subsidy has the purpose of triggering the construction of affordable and quality housing with a value of up to 495 thousand pesos in Leon, Irapuato and Celaya, in a first stage, since those are the cities that present the greatest demand for housing in Guanajuato.
“The Housing Promotion Program will not have a budget limit as long as things continue to be done well, we will continue to support affordable housing, because it is what our workers demand today, the people who make the most effort, who only have enough, are the ones we need to support,” said the Governor.
With this agreement, Guanajuatenses benefit by obtaining up to 100,000 pesos of subsidy for the acquisition of their houses through the municipal housing institutes of Leon, Irapuato and Celaya.
On April 28, 2020, the State Government, through the Secretary of Social and Human Development, signed an agreement with CANADEVI to allocate a subsidy of 100 million pesos for housing for the benefit of Guanajuatense families.
According to the operating rules, for the year 2023 it is expected to benefit up to 600 people with a subsidy of up to 100,000 pesos for the acquisition of a new home.
The forum aims to be a meeting space to update knowledge and find strategies to face the challenges of the housing industry in 2023.
This first Regional Housing Forum in the Bajio is organized by the National Chamber of the Housing Development and Promotion Industry –CANADEVI- Leon, within a global situation that is volatile and changing, after the Covid 19 pandemic.
As part of this event, foreign CANADEVI delegations come to Guanajuato to learn about the functioning and operation of the Housing Promotion Program –that works by the name Mi Vivienda Gto, Contigo Si-, run by SEDESHU.
This program is unique in Mexico and the results have drawn the attention of other CANADEVI delegations, with the aim of replicating the program, which has been favorable for Guanajuato families.
The forum is attended by CANADEVI delegations from Nuevo Leon, Yucatan and Tamaulipas, among other.
