From Bangladesh to Serbia, Louxembourg and Maldivas, products from Guanajuato arrive for the first time to new markets

Luis Ernesto Rojas Avila, general director of COFOCE said that according to estimates of the Coordinator from January to November 2019, Guanajuato exported for the first time to countries like Andorra, Virgin Islands, People’s Democratic Republic of Laos, French Polynesia, Republic of Serbia, Bangladesh, Maldivas, among other, for a total of $554,398 dollars.
Leather, tires, mineral fertilizer, furniture and alcoholic beverages are some of the products from Guanajuato that have been exported to these places.
New exporters
“In this period Guanajuato exported for more tan $18 thousand million dollars, and the agro-industrial sector, the metal-mechanics, leather, hats, skin and shoes and textiles had a growth compared to the previous year. This amount was achieved by 1,159 companies, 16 of which are new exporters, most of them from the agro-industrial sector”, said Rojas Avila.
The exports from the State reached 130 destinations around the world where besides USA, other important destinations are Canada, Germany, China, Brazil, Japan, Guatemala, Thailand, South Korea, Chile, among other.
Rojas Avila also said that the top five exporter municipalities are Silao, Celaya, Irapuato, Salamanca and Leon with 85.1% of participation of exports from Guanajuato.
From January-November 2019, Guanajuato exported 151 new products for a sum of 12.6 million dollars, among the main products are rod iron, lead, hydraxina and hydroxilamina, electroplating products, engines for ships, synthetic textiles, glass fiber threads, among other.

- Salamanca 5.8%
