Guanajuato positions as a leader in aeronautics

The ship Halcon 2.1 was recognized as a light sport aircraft with AFAC certification

During a working tour of the municipality of Celaya, the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the ceremony for the delivery of the Airworthiness Certificate for the Halcon 2.1 of the Horizontec company. 

“Today is a historic day for Guanajuato, one that will be etched in the memory of our land as a symbol of innovation, talent, and a vision for the future. Because we are celebrating an achievement that transcends borders: the delivery of Airworthiness Certificate 001, issued by the Federal Civil Aviation Agency, for the Halcon 2.1, an aircraft that represents the entrepreneurial spirit and capability of our people,” said the Governor.

Libia Dennise commented that in Guanajuato, “we feel deeply proud to have a company like Horizontec in our territory. A company that not only manufactures airplanes, but builds dreams, opens paths, and demonstrates that in Mexico, and particularly in Guanajuato, we know how to fly high.”

The Halcon 2.1 is a two-seat sport aircraft designed to meet the needs of Mexican aviation. It can be used for basic training, preparing the next generation of pilots; for recreational flying, bringing the thrill of flying to more people; and for aerial surveillance, contributing to security and territorial reconnaissance, said the Governor.

Libia Dennise noted that this certificate represents the confirmation that our State is ready to lead in the aerospace industry.

“The Halcon 2.1 project sends a clear message: in Guanajuato, we know how to innovate, compete, and win. I want to congratulate the entire Horizontec team for their vision, talent, and commitment,” the Governor said.

During this event, Authorities and Officials held the symbolic delivery of the Airworthiness Certificate and an exhibition flight of the Halcon 2.1 showed its stability, safety and performance in the air.
