The gastronomic and tourist excellence of Guanajuato continues to gain fame and recognition, now in the ninth edition of the Food and Travel Reader Awards 2024 in four categories.

In this new beginning the Government of the People, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity seeks to elevate Guanajuato with its excellent tourist destinations. The nomination to these prestigious awards for quality tourist products in Guanajuato, highlights the commitment to the sustainability of its destinations, hotels and culinary experiences.

The categories and nominees are:

• “Best Wine Region in Mexico”: Guanajuato, for its outstanding wine and wine tourism offer
• “Best Hotel Restaurant in Mexico”: Zibu Allende, Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende, for its culinary excellence and creativity
• “Best Destination in Mexico”: San Miguel de Allende, recognized for its cultural, historical and touristic wealth
• “Best Boutique Hotel in a Magical Town or Colonial City”: Casa de Sierra Nevada, A Belmond Hotel San Miguel de Allende and Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, two exponents of luxury hospitality and architectural conservation

The Food and Travel Reader Awards are organized by Food and Travel Mexico, one of the most influential publications in tourism and gastronomy, with a massive reach among travelers, hospitality experts and lovers of fine dining. Its prestige has grown in recent years, consolidating itself as the main reference in trends and excellence in these sectors.

Since their creation, the awards have been voted for by the magazine’s readers, who have the final say in selecting the winners. This transparent and democratic process reflects the opinion of travelers and food lovers, consolidating these awards as the most important of their kind in Mexico, which in nine editions has recognized destinations, restaurants and hotels that have transformed the experience of traveling and eating into memorable experiences.

To ensure the quality of the nominees, a panel of 63 hospitality industry experts, together with the magazine’s editorial board, makes a careful selection. The vote is then left to the public, who have until January 20, 2025 to choose their favorites.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on February 20, 2025, and will be held at the El Cantoral forum.

This gala will bring together the most outstanding figures in tourism and gastronomy in Mexico, once again consolidating the Food and Travel Reader Awards as the most important recognition in its category.

With these nominations, Guanajuato continues to position itself as a benchmark in tourism and gastronomy, promoting high-level experiences that captivate national and international travelers, which translate into economic results for the first line of attention in the tourism of Guanajuato.
