The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, noted the coordination that the three levels of government have for the construction of peace, after meeting with the Governors of the Bajio-Occidente Region at the facilities of the XII Military Region.

“For Guanajuato, the results are encouraging, we have achieved sustained and significant reductions that encourage us to continue moving forward with this CONFIA Strategy; this was acknowledged by the military commanders at this meeting,” said Libia Dennise.

Present at this interstate meeting were:
- Jesus Pablo Lemus Navarro, Governor of Jalisco
- Indira Vizcaino Silva, Governor of Colima
- Carlos Torres Pina, Secretary of Government of Michoacan
- Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, Governor of Guanajuato, as host
- Military commanders
At the meeting, the heads of the executive branches, as well as the military commanders, presented the results obtained in key indicators with respect to the last meeting held on March 27 at the facilities of the 15th Military Zone in Zapopan, Jalisco.

Libia Dennise highlighted the results registered in Guanajuato with the CONFIA Strategy. In February of this year, both the number of victims and the crime rate placed our State first in the country in intentional homicides.
In March, Guanajuato dropped to second place, and in April, it reached sixth place in the crime rate for intentional homicide, said the Governor.

The most encouraging figures are that from March to April 2025, homicides fell by 43.1 percent; while compared to the same month in 2024, homicides are 25 percent lower.

The Governor said there is still a long way to go in building peace, with possible difficult days ahead that could devastate society, but today, more than ever, Guanajuato is on the right path, as exemplified by these meetings that strengthen interstate cooperation.
“With this work, we want to restore peace and tranquility for the families of Guanajuato; rest assured that we are on the right path and that we will spare no effort to work for the peace we all deserve,” said the Governor.

Libia Dennise thanked the Secretary of National Defense and the guest Governors for their willingness to work as a team, as well as for their support of local strategies to combat crime.
