Guanajuato/Gto News
The State of Guanajuato is positioned as one of the states with the best labor performance in Mexico, surpassing the national average according to data from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

By the end of March 2025, there will be more than 1,125,000 registered jobs in Guanajuato, with an annual increase of more than 20,500 new jobs, representing a growth of 1.9%, higher than the national average of 0.8%.

This figure places Guanajuato fourth in Mexico in formal job creation, with the most dynamic sectors being:
- Business, personal, and household services, transportation, commerce, the primary sector, automotive, chemical, wood furniture, metal products, and food
In addition, Guanajuato has strengthened its economy by attracting more than $2.144 billion in investments from 14 new projects, with the expectation of generating more than 4,800 committed jobs.

Guanajuato has achieved solid and sustained growth over the past three decades, attracting high-value investments, integrating MSMEs into production chains, promoting local entrepreneurship, and generating inclusive and diverse employment.
The head of the Ministry of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, said that with targeted investment actions, industrial connections between Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs), and the strengthening of Guanajuato’s talent, a solid foundation is being created for the consolidation of Prosperity Ecosystems in Guanajuato.

Guanajuato as an economic power
Throughout 2024, the positive results were also reflected in Guanajuato achieving second place nationwide in manufacturing production value, with 1.2 trillion pesos, and first place in exports by non-border states, with more than $36.3 billion.
“Despite global uncertainty, the private sector maintains its interest in investing in Guanajuato thanks to the direction, strategy, and trust instilled by the People’s Government, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo,” said Secretary of Economy Cristina Villasenor.
