The program by SECTUR involves 7 municipalities and State wine labels are promoted

The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, through the Direction of Tourism Products, presented the oenotouristic project “Guanajuato, Tierra de Vinos”, a program with a strategy of promotion in Guanajuato, in the Museum of Wine at Dolores Hidalgo.
Position the industry
With the Association of Grapes and Wine of Guanajuato A.C. and supervised by the sommelier Erika Diaz Mercado, SECTUR has a plan to promote and position the State wine industry, including the training of personnel, theme wine tasting at restaurants and hotels with restaurants.
Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, said during the presentation that SECTUR is convinced of linking the offer with the demand, “a basic and simple rule of the market”.
The advantages
“Guanajuato has a great competitive advantage, it has a great diversity of segments, destinations, attractive touristic places and it has professional and committed tourist service providers. I want to congratulate the wine producers who have believed in and have added on to the SECTUR strategies, you know Guanajuato is a prolific land for the production of wine, and that the State Government is here to go with you in all the process”, said Alvarez Brunel.
Eager Participants:
- 135 people were trained in 16 restaurants
- 158 people were participants in the wine-pairing dinners in 9 restaurants
- Participants were: chefs, waiters, owners and administrative staff.
A wine experience in Guanajuato
“The most important in this strategy is to promote our labels and all the oenotourist development, including the Routes of the Wine, so that our visitors live the experience of the wine in Guanajuato”, said the Secretary of Tourism.
Wine sites were chosen in San Felipe, Celaya, Irapuato, Leon, Salamanca, San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, the State Capital, and the goal is to achieve an economic development in the State, create oenotouristic experiences and add all this to the offer as Guanajuatense wine is introduced in new consuming sites.
The participating restaurants in the “Guanajuato, Land of Wine” program are:
Beef Capital, Siete Caudillos, Hotel Hilton The Garden Rastaurant, Las Barricas, Abati Restaurant, Casa Mercedes, Grotto, Hotel Double Tree, La Virgen de la Cueva, Mezze, Mi Espacio Guanajuato, 3 de 6, Octagono, Gerry’s Pizza, Pepronata, Sato, Ma Come No Tradicional, Hotel Hilton Salamanca, La Casona del Arco, Barra Central and Lindo Sinaloa.
The cellars and labels that participated in this program are:
Cuna de Tierra, Vinedos San Miguel, Vinedos El Lobo, Octagono, Tres Raices, Dos Buhos, Guaname, San Jose La Vista, Caminos De Vinos and Santisima Trinidad.
