The “Guanajuato is Prosperity” Axis reaffirms the strength of its relationship with the United States, a strategic ally in trade and investment that has contributed significantly to the economic development of Guanajuato, informed the Government of Guanajuato in a press release.

The election of Donald Trump as President of the United States and the policies proposed in his campaign present a new situation that invites us to strengthen our ties and adapt intelligently to changes in the international scenario, informs the press release.

The relationship between Mexico and the United States has deep roots, and Guanajuato has leveraged this bond to become a key investment and export center in the region.

Currently, the United States represents 83% of the market for our exports, where products such as automobiles, auto parts, agro-foods, plastic and rubber products, as well as the chemical industry stand out, informed the Government of Guanajuato.

For more than two decades, American companies such as General Motors, Pepsico, Walmart, Ford, Procter & Gamble and American Axle have chosen Guanajuato as an investment destination, generating more than 30,000 direct jobs. With an accumulated investment exceeding 5.2 billion dollars, the United States has consolidated its position as our second largest investment partner, second only to Japan, informs the press release.

This relationship not only strengthens the State’s industrial sector, but also encourages local small and medium-sized enterprises to integrate into world-class value chains.
