Guanajuato is the second largest manufacturing producer in Mexico, with a value of 1.1 trillion pesos

Guanajuato consolidates its position as one of the industrial engines of Mexico by occupying second place nationally in the value of accumulated manufacturing production, with 1 trillion 101 billion 200 million pesos from January to November 2025, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
This result reflects the vision and economic strategy implemented by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, whose leadership has prioritized a solid, innovative, and globally oriented business ecosystem.
The State Administration has promoted public policies that encourage investment, productivity, and balanced development in all regions of Guanajuato.
The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, highlighted that this achievement is a tangible result of Guanajuato’s Economic Policy, designed with a vision for the future and focused on attracting complementary, targeted and sustainable investments; on scaling up local companies towards global value chains and on strengthening formal employment.
Guanajuato has competitive advantages that make it attractive for business, such as a privileged geographical position:
- Within a radius of 400 km you can access 80% of the national market, 60% of the population, 70% of the automotive industry and 70 % of the country’s exports
In addition, Guanajuato has excellent connectivity and logistics, with the intersection of highways 45 and 57, world-class rail operation and efficient connection with the ports of the Gulf and the Pacific, as well as important air connectivity.
The State economy is diversified and dynamic, with 12 industrial clusters, as well as cutting-edge talent and training, education relevance, and close collaboration between academia, private enterprise, and government.
This achievement confirms Guanajuato’s prosperity, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, consolidating its position as a strategic partner for investment that benefits its families.
The People’s Government, through the Secretary of Economy, promotes Ecosystems of Prosperity so that private initiative generates and maintains jobs for the benefit of the people of Guanajuato.
