From July 19 to August 31, Guanajuato expects more than 2.9 million visitors

The Government of the People invites all families to experience an unforgettable summer by exploring and enjoying the State’s cultural, culinary, natural, and festive treasures.
As part of the Connecting with the People program, Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, and the Secretary of Tourism and Identity Lupita Robles Leon, invited families to enjoy everything the State has ready for this summer vacation.
With a 46-day holiday, from July 17 to August 31, the State expects more than 2.9 million visitors, generating an economic impact of more than 7 billion pesos. This consolidates Guanajuato as a tourist destination that combines tradition, modernity, flavor, and unique experiences for all ages.
“I invite you to enjoy Guanajuato, it is a State where you can find activities for all people. Furthermore, let’s be aware that the economic impact of tourism helps everyone progress as a State,” said the Governor in her weekly broadcast.
Vive Leon Festival 2025: A summer for everyone
One of the main attractions in the Summer is the Vive Leon 2025 Festival, which is held from July 19 to August 3, focusing on the marine world and attracting some 800,000 visitors.
Its attractions include the People’s Pavilion with an exhibition and sale of products from more than 338 local companies of the Marca Guanajuato.
Gastronomic Agenda: Guanajuato Sí Sabe!
The Secretary of Tourism explained that the “Guanajuato ¡Si Sabe!” Gastronomic Season consists of 27 events in 24 municipalities, and although some have already been held, they are yet to be celebrated:
- July 25 – Corn Fair in Tarandacuao
- July 27 – Rincon Grill Festival
- August 2 – 1st Guanajuato Tequila Festival in Penjamo
- July 23-26 – Endemic Festival 2025 in four cities
- July 25-26 – Themed dinners in Leon, Irapuato, San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato City
- August 8 – Pulque and Carnitas Fair in Dr. Mora
- August 10 – Beer and Tequila Festival in Cueramaro
- August 17 – Festival of Delights in Juventino Rosas
- August 17 – Customs and Gastronomy of the Sierra Gorda in Xichu
- August 21 – Pomegranate and Pitahaya Fair in Apaseo el Alto
- August 24 – Walnut and Quince Fair in Purisima del Rincon
“Guanajuato is culture, tradition, flavor, and experience. We invite you to enjoy it with your family and rediscover everything that makes us proud of our roots,” said Governor Libia Dennise.
2025 Grape Harvest: Wine, Culture, and Tradition
From August 9 to October 18, the 2025 Guanajuato Grape Harvest Festival will be celebrated with 14 events in six municipalities: Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel de Allende, San Felipe, Leon, Comonfort, and Silao. The grape harvest includes guided tastings, grape stomping, workshops, traditional cooking, and cultural activities.
Guanajuato is the country’s fourth-largest wine producer and has won more than 450 national and international awards, including 24 medals at the 2024 Brussels World Competition.

- GIFF – Guanajuato International Film Festival: July 25 to August 4 in Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, and Irapuato
- Mariachi Festival: August 17 at Juventino Rosas
- Cimarron Marathon: August 24 in Manuel Doblado
- National Cardboard Fair: August 29 in San Jose Iturbide
- Cube Dam Festival: August 30-31 in Tarimoro
- International Cervantino Festival: from October 10 to 26, with the United Kingdom and Veracruz as guests of honor
- International Balloon Festival: November 14-17 in Leon. Featuring for the first time “People’s Friday,” with free admission for everyone on the morning of November 14
Guanajuato: a year-round destination
In addition to these events, Guanajuato offers two World Heritage Cities, six Magical Towns, five Archaeological Sites, natural and religious trails, and a wide range of cuisine, art, and traditions.
“We are working in Guanajuato to continue building the peace we all desire, and part of that peacebuilding is spending time with our family,” said the Governor.
