The State Fund for the Strengthening of Municipal Public Security increases by 200 million pesos in 2024
30 years of INFOSPE is commemorated with a ceremony for graduates of police training and specialization

The Government of Guanajuato continues working to guarantee the security and peace of Guanajuatenses by increasing the budget for the acquisition of equipment and the professionalization of state police.
Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, presided over the Twenty-Second Ordinary Session of the State Public Security Council, where he announced the increase by 200 million pesos to the State Fund for the Strengthening of Municipal Public Security for this 2024, and said that State security is strengthened with the municipalities.
In the session the Security Council approved the Guidelines to be followed by municipalities seeking to join this program.
“Safety continues to be the greatest demand of our society and we must respond with work, effort and high-mindedness from all areas; Municipalities are the most immediate authority for citizens, that is why we want to have strong police forces and strong municipalities”, said the Governor.
At the start of this State Administration, the Executive recalled, the commitment was 600 million pesos to strengthen municipal police corporations through the Fund, and until 2024, the investment has been doubled to 1,200 million pesos.
For 2024, 200 million pesos will be allocated, which will be distributed in the municipalities that decide to join the Program, once they fulfill the 45 commitments in matters of Public Safety regarding operation, information technologies, prevention crime and civil protection.
Of the more than one billion pesos that have already been invested until last year, the Governor said, the Municipal Police have been strengthened with patrols, personal defense and security equipment, technological and communications equipment; in addition to the provision of more than 41 thousand professionalization services.
“Our state has the best Public Safety Training Institute in the Country. It has been three decades in which INFOSPE has fulfilled its mission of training and professionalizing our police corporations”, said the Governor of Guanajuato.
Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the ceremony commemorating 30 years of the State Public Security Training Institute -INFOSPE- and the graduation of the participants of the ‘Initial Training Program’, as well as members of Public Security who completed their ‘Continuing Training’.
“It has been 30 years of innovating and strengthening its professionalization model to have more trained, responsible and more effective elements”, said the Governor.
Here, the Professional Career Service is promoted, as well as the personal and academic growth of its members at the high school level or higher studies, such as:
- Higher University Technician in Public Security
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Security
- Master’s Degree in Criminalistics
- Master’s Degree in Criminal Studies
“We have made great progress in consolidating INFOSPE. We know that we still have very important tasks to do, including continuing with the construction of its new facilities, therefore, I tell you, feel very proud to belong to this Institute,” said the Governor.
INFOSPE will continue to be a source of human capital for State and Municipal corporations, added the Governor.
“Congratulations to all the graduates; Society expects a lot from you. And I know that you are going to do your job”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
During this ceremony, the Governor signed a Decree to promulgate May 11, as the State Day of Persons Licensed in Public Security, in commemoration of the fact that on May 11, 1998, the Agreement was established with the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato -SEG- to teach the Bachelor’s Degree in Public Security.
