Heads of technological and polytechnic universities meet in Penjamo. They discuss education innovation and strengthening vocational training in the region

Penjamo/Gto News

In order to strengthen academic innovation, create joint strategies for regional education development, and consolidate a training offer aligned with current challenges, a regional meeting with heads of technological and polytechnic universities was held, convened by the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato.

The reunion was held at the Polytechnic University of Penjamo and brought together State education Authorities, principals, and directors of institutions within the technological subsystem.

Aldelmo Emmanuel Israel Reyes Pablo, Undersecretary of Secondary and Higher Education, emphasized the importance of higher education institutions not only providing professional training but also establishing themselves as attractive, innovative, and accessible spaces for young people.

Reyes emphasized the need to transform the way universities are presented and promoted, promoting immersive, up-to-date education experiences that connect with students’ languages.

In this context, he also noted the role of microcredentials as a valuable tool that allows for the certification of specific skills through flexible processes. These processes strengthen the education trajectory and improve student employability, without replacing traditional programs, but rather strategically complementing them.

Anselmo Conejo Cornejo, Regional Delegate of Education in Region VI, reiterated his commitment to institutions within the technological subsystem to consolidate higher education that transforms territories and generates real opportunities. Conejo acknowledged that local contexts should guide education strategies and valued these types of spaces as essential for building shared solutions.

The participating principals, directors, and representatives agreed that the key is to continue innovating, without losing sight of the quality and relevance that characterize the education programs.

As part of the agenda, the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato shared key trends that mark the direction of higher education and are considered priorities to strengthen the design of the education offer.

Participating were representatives from the Polytechnic University of Penjamo, the Technological University Laja-Bajio, the Technological University of Salamanca, the Technological University of San Miguel de Allende, the Polytechnic University of Juventino Rosas, the Bicentennial Polytechnic University, the Polytechnic University of Guanajuato, the Technological University of Northern Guanajuato, and the Technological University of Southwest Guanajuato.
