Guanajuato is a tourist destination you shouldn’t miss and one of its main attractions is food. Aware of this, the Ministry of Tourism and Identity -SECTURI- and chefs from Guanajuato delight in the 16th edition of “Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomico” -VNG-, in Puerto Vallarta.

The participation of Guanajuato in this most important gastronomic event in Latin America, with the central theme “The only constant is change”, is relevant.

At this summit -which opened today and concludes on October 18- Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, Secretary of Tourism and Identity, with Chefs Mayela Cardenas, from the Casa Mercedes Restaurant, located in Guanajuato City; Domingo Martinez, from the Amatxi Restaurant in Guanajuato City; and Jordi Casas, from the Asador Catalan Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende, will highlight the tourist wealth and culinary heritage of Guanajuato.

Today, prior to the inauguration, Robles had a reunion with Carlos Elizondo and Consuelo Elipe, directors of the VNG, and top authorities of the two host destinations: Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta, as well as important tourism stakeholders from invited States and Countries, where they jointly established priority issues that require actions to address this segment.

Guanajuato’s agenda also includes a presentation of the destination by the Secretary; as well as top-level networking with topics on tourism and gastronomy, participation in a pairing dinner, a gala pairing dinner and an ambassadors’ dinner, as well as show cooking and a paella workshop. In addition, there will also be the participation of Vinos Tierra de Luz and Casa Biznaga.

The good seasoning and experience of chefs Mayela Cardenas, Domingo Martinez and Jordi Casas seek to delight the palates of a demanding public with their diverse dishes -which include endemic ingredients of Guanajuato- and to exalt and position Guanajuato gastronomy among Mexican and international chefs, Michelin Stars, 50 Best and Top Chef -key guests at VNG-.
