Governor inaugurates the remodeling of the Maternal and Child Specialty Hospital of León
Diego Sinhue delivers Maintenance, Rehabilitation and Dignification works of CAISES on January 20, where 17.6 million pesos were invested

“One of the best decisions I made as Governor was not to hand over our Health System to the Federation. In Guanajuato we have medicines and great medical care, that is why I say it, ‘we have the best Health System in this country and that is thanks to all of you’. Here we have sufficient and modern infrastructure”, said the Governor of GUanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Governor inaugurated the expansion and remodeling of the Maternal and Child Specialty Hospital of Leon in the Jol Gua Ber neighborhood.
The investment:
- 22.6 million pesos were invested in these works
- 17.4 million were in construction works
- 5.2 million in medical equipment
Better attention:
- The obstetric therapy section was expanded with 5 beds
- The hospitalization area was expanded with 12 gynecology and obstetrics beds
- 2 isolated cubicles
- 6 pediatric beds
“These works that we are delivering today will improve the service and medical care provided to patients and their families who are with them”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“This is good news because these works benefit more than 462 thousand women and minors without social security,” said the Governor.
This hospital provides services in:
Pediatrics, neonatology, gynecology-obstetrics, anesthesiology, nursing, pediatric surgery, pediatric cardiology, pediatric endocrinology, internal medicine, oncological surgery, CETO, family planning, dentistry, psychology, preventive medicine, epidemiology, wound clinic, catheter clinic, pediatric emergencies, in addition to comprehensive care for violence against women, it also has the specialty of perinatal nursing in collaboration with UNAM
The Guanajuato Health System has:
- A magnetic resonator in Leon and 9 tomographs in various municipalities, and the Governor announced the upcoming purchase of a linear accelerator, worth 185 million pesos, to treat various diseases
“In Guanajuato our priority is health, that is why we invest 6.5 billion pesos a year, in addition to the 8 billion that the Federation sends us”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“Thanks to the Health Workers of Guanajuato, they are the heroes and also because of them we will continue to bet on health,” said the Governor.
Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, delivered the Maintenance, Rehabilitation and Dignification works of the Comprehensive Care Center for Essential Health Services –CAISES- January 20, previously located on Miguel Aleman Avenue.
It is now located in the old facilities of the General Hospital of Leon, with an intervened area of more than 3,633 square meters, where an investment of 17.6 million pesos was made.
The new CAISES consists of a ground floor of 2,398 square meters, and will offer:
- Child Development Unit, Social Work, Cardiovascular Risk, Chronic Non-Contagious Diseases, and Blood Sample Collection will be located. Dental Area, Treatments, Strictly Supervised Shortened Treatment Network, Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Program, Equipment and Sterilization Center, Hydration, Cashier, Admission and Outpatient Consultation
The upper floor has 1,700 square meters with:
- Government premises, Friendly Services, Vector Administration, and Bacilloscopic Laboratory spaces, it has a Chapel of 165 square meters
The CAISES medical area cares for:
- Contagious diseases, chronic non-contagious diseases, pregnancy monitoring, healthy child monitoring and other diseases, it also has a State Center for Obstetric Screening, Family Planning and No-Scalpel Vasectomies
Other areas in the CAISES are:
- Dental, Psychology, Laboratory, Social Work, Management, Promotion, Nutrition and Friendly Services, where promotion talks and psychology consultations are offered
There is also a:
- Nursing area with vaccination, examination, cytology and application of questionnaires, and an area for Issuing Medical Certificates for a driver’s license
This CAISES will expand its service offer and will allow it to directly serve 25,848 inhabitants in an effective and timely manner; one of the advantages of the relocation of CAISES is that there is better communication and accessibility to the Leon General Hospital and the Leon State Pediatric Hospital in case a transfer is required, said the Secretary of Health, Daniel Diaz Martinez.
