With 11.2 million visitors from January to June, the State reports a 7% increase compared to 2024. Projections for the second half of the year are even more encouraging

As of June of this year, Guanajuato received 11.2 million visitors, representing a 7% increase compared to the same period of last year. Regarding tourist arrivals, 2.24 million were registered, equivalent to a 4% increase.

Thus, Guanajuato consolidates its leadership as a cultural and tourist destination in Mexico.

State hotel occupancy averages 35%, a significant figure considering that the summer vacation season, which is expected to be one of the most important for Guanajuato during this administration, is not included.
The Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), under the direction of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, has intensified its strategies to attract visitor by promoting unique tourism products such as grape harvests, which this year are programmed in 14 vineyards in six municipalities, and a robust festival program that positions Guanajuato as a benchmark for cultural and experiences tourism.

The International Cervantino Festival (FIC), which this year projects an attendance of 263,000 visitors and an estimated economic impact of 308 million pesos, has a lineup widely celebrated by national and international media and audiences.
Grape harvest season which began this weekend with a significant turnout for wine tourism. The Festival of the Dead (Festival de Muertos) has activities in Guanajuato City and nearby municipalities such as San Miguel de Allende, Leon, Irapuato, Silao, and Dolores Hidalgo CIN.

As well as the International Balloon Festival, one of the most emblematic events in The Bajio, the Jose Alfredo Jimenez The King Festival, and the December festivities, which each year increase the tourist season closing.
“The second half of the year is always the best for tourism in Guanajuato, and 2025 will be no exception. Everything indicates that we will close with a growth exceeding 4%, consolidating a positive path of recovery, expansion, and promotion,” reported Secretary Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon.

Guanajuato has World Heritage cities, six Magical Towns, and a cultural agenda that fosters travel throughout the year. In collaboration with municipalities, the tourism sector, and the State Government, the State is preparing to close out 2025 as one of the strongest and most competitive destinations in Mexico.
