The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, signed a collaboration agreement with the Ambassador of the French Republic in Mexico and with the French Development Agency, to develop an action plan aimed at the introduction and promotion of the teaching of French in public schools of Higher Secondary Level in Guanajuato.
“This is an agreement that gives our young people one more skill in their working lives. With France there is a great relationship in commercial matters and now as a life project for young people who can learn this language”, said the Governor.
This agreement with Guanajuato is based on another signed at the federal level, in December 2019, for inter-lingualism with the French language in public schools in Mexico. Guanajuato is the eleventh State that joins this program with France.
The actions foreseen with this signature are to develop a specific action plan for the State of Guanajuato for selected public schools at the Upper Secondary Level and to promote an exchange in terms of language education with teacher and student certifications.
This agreement will be in force for two years and could be renewed; it goes into effect in January 2023 in selected schools.
The French Ambassador in Mexico, Jean-Pierre Asvazadourian, said that this signing with Guanajuato is very important because it will allow the offer of one more language in the public education system for Guanajuato, since today’s world demands a foreign language that allows more opportunities for improvement.
“I am happy that this project is signed and for everything that will be done in the coming years; this is a great agreement that will help us move forward on this issue and it is the beginning of a lasting relationship”, said the Ambassador, and highlighted that from the French Embassy in Mexico, there is an openness to work on other issues of social interest for Guanajuato.
Marine Landais, Deputy Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Action of the French Embassy, presented the Agreement on the State Care System (Agreement fogr Equal Opportunities and Social Mobility).
“It is an agreement of wills between the state of Guanajuato, the Espinosa Yglesias Study Center and the French Development Agency, within the framework of the research facility on social inequalities in the European Union,” said Landais.
