The State of Guanajuato and Brazil promote the exchange of investments and strengthen their ties of friendship, as stated by the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, who led the opening ceremony of the Doing Business with Brazil Panel, organized by the Mexico-Brazil Chamber (CAMEBRA).
This meeting has the objective of promoting the investment of Brazilian companies in Guanajuato and Guanajuato companies in the South American country.
“Not only are we making Guanajuato an ideal destination for investors or for productive projects, we are also promoting the internationalization of our young people, so that they complement their technical and professional education.
“Mexico and Brazil are the two powers of Latin America, we have bridges that unite us, we are very similar in culture, in wealth and I think it is important that we increase our relationship. We have a long way to go together, that is why Brazil is the ninth commercial partner of the State”, said Rodríguez Vallejo.
Present at the panel, Fernando Estellita Lins de Salvo Coimbra, Ambassador of Brazil in Mexico, spoke of the strong commercial relation with Guanajuato and how it can improve investment between the State and the South American country.
“We have a solid relationship, we have companies that have decided to settle in this fabulous state and that are very happy to be here. I would like to tell you, Mr. Governor and the businessmen and your team, that the Brazilian embassy is ready to collaborate and create bridges to facilitate business and dynamic cooperation”, explained the Brazilian diplomat.
CAMEBRA is a non-profit civil association created in 1987 with the commitment to support and promote the sustained economic development of Mexican and Brazilian companies, by facilitating and commenting on successful business relationships between companies and institutions from both countries.
CAMEBRA has 150 affiliated companies. This event is an opportunity to put Guanajuato on the Brazilian map and Brazil on the Guanajuato map, mainly in the sectors:
- Automotive, Aerospace and Agrotechnology
Trade between Guanajuato and Brazil amounts to 248 million dollars (as of 2020), which places the South American country as the ninth commercial partner of Guanajuato, the seventh buyer and the eighth supplier.
77 percent of Guanajuato’s exports to Brazil correspond to:
- Auto parts, the rest to the cosmetics and personal care industry, metal mechanics, agro-industrial, plastics and other industries
There are 97 companies that exported to Brazil in 2020, of which 10 represent 83 percent of exports.
Trade between Mexico and Brazil is around 10 billion dollars a year. However, this can increase between 50% and 60% if both countries sign a Free Trade Agreement.
“Mexico and Guanajuato share with Brazil values and a rich history and culture. We are brothers, there is a genuine affection between us. Today in Guanajuato we are a state open to the world, we express this conviction through our philosophy which is to bring more world to Guanajuato and take more Guanajuato to the world”, said the Governor.
