A Memorandum of Understanding is signed between the Bogota District Tourism Institute and the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato
They will work in policies, plans and programs that strengthen tourism promotion and position destinations as innovative and sustainable

On the last day of the ANATO 2025 Tourism Showcase in Colombia, three intense days of meetings and agreements were concluded that are aimed at strengthening the tourism sector in Guanajuato.
The Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato, Lupita Robles Leon, signed a Memorandum of Understanding that strengthens the collaboration between the District Tourism Institute of Bogota and SECTURI, opening new paths for sustainable and community tourism between both regions.
“These were intense days, meetings with wholesale groups, travel agencies, airlines, agreements with governments that will allow us to continue strengthening Guanajuato in the tourism sector, but above all it is about working as a team to attract a greater number of tourists and transform the lives of all Guanajuatense residents,” said Robles Leon.
With this agreement and the activities carried out, both institutions are committed to expand tourism, attract a greater number of visitors and promote the identity and culture of both Bogota and Guanajuato, consolidating a strategic alliance that promises to transform the lives of the communities and position both destinations on the international map.
The Secretary of Tourism and Identity noted the strengths of the State with its two World Heritage cities, as beautiful as Guanajuato City and San Miguel de Allende; six magical towns, archaeological zones; denominations of mezcal, tequila and, above all, the music of Jose Alfredo that enchants visitors.
“Come and discover Bogota, a beautiful city, and also discover Guanajuato. They are two magnificent tourist destinations, and I want to invite you to enjoy the best of both worlds,” said the secretary.
Andres Santamaria Garrido, director of Tourism of Bogota, said that Bogota has a great cultural and entertainment city, with more than 10 thousand restaurants, 40 spectacular market squares and a unique natural offering.
“Bogota combines the modernity of its city with a rural environment that represents 35% of the territory, offering diverse experiences that satisfy the multiple tastes of tourists,” said Santamaria.
