The People’s Government, through the Secretary of Economy, signed an agreement with Banco Santander Mexico to offer second-tier banking alternatives to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Guanajuato.

Through this alliance, 5,000 scholarships will be awarded for a training program focused on developing business skills, aligned with the Marca Guanajuato.

Under the leadership of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, actions are being promoted to strengthen the local economy through partnerships that respond to real needs and promote professionalization.

The Secretary of the Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, highlighted Santander’s commitment to offer a differentiated approach tailored to local businesses, with preferential conditions and specialized courses.

“With this alliance, we seek to support the growth of the country’s most important sector: micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, which generate approximately 50% of the GDP and more than 70% of employment in Mexico. With this agreement, we hope to benefit Guanajuato’s SMEs over the next four years, reaffirming our trust in them as we become the bank for SMEs in the region,” said Bernardo Gabriel Vazquez Loyo, Executive Director of the Central P&P region of Banco Santander Mexico.

Santander will offer SMEs preferential credit terms, support, and specialized training from its executives, boosting their development and job creation.

The agreement includes loans with no opening fee, interest rate discounts, transactional services, online banking, checking accounts, point-of-sale terminals, and payroll benefits, all with preferential terms.

The agreement was signed in Guanajuato City between Secretary of Economy Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar and representatives of Banco Santander.
