The Governor commits to support producers and exporters from Guanajuato

Even in the middle of a zero National growth and of the economic crisis in the world, Guanajuato is firm as a competitive state that won’t stop its development, said Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, in the swearing in ceremony of the National Council of the Maquila and Manufacturing Industry for Export (INDEX), in its chapter Guanajuato. Rodriguez Vallejo said that his administration works to make of the State a pole of economic and logistics development.

“Even with the clouds on the world and national economies, Guanajuato has a great oppportunity, crises are a great opportunity, and what is happening in China’s economy is a great opportunity for Guanajuato and with a solid T-MEC there is a greater trust in investment”, said the Governor.

We bet, said the Governor, on maintaining Guanajuato as a competitive State with infrastructure; that is why, he said, the Grupo Aeroportuario del Bajio will invest more than 600 million pesos in construction at the International Airport of Guanajuato.

The investment will increase the arrival ports from 8 to 14, the cargo planes will be serviced; also the lobby areas will be improved, as well as the VIP areas and there will be roofing on parking spaces.

Works will also be done on customs areas in the Puerto Interior and in other areas of the International Airport, the goal is to set up a safe corridor and make easier the process for exporters and importers.

These actions are done as other actions are committed by the State Administration to invest more than 400 millions to support the growth of  MiPymes and strengthening the local markets.

“We should bet on Mexicans, we should play along with them, so that they can work as professionals and can be suppliers of the industry, this year the number went from 200 to 400 million pesos in support for MiPymes”, he said.

The Governor insisted in his commitment to work with organisms like INDEX, which represents more than 1,200 global companies that operate in Mexico, through 22 local associations in areas like automotive, aerospatial, electronic, medical equipment, appliances, textile, jewelry and agro-industry.

Luis Alfonso Aguirre Lang, President of INDEX, hailed the work of the Government of Guanajuato and the States of the Alliance Centro-Bajio-Occidente, to increase competitiveness in Mexico, in jobs generation and the attraction of investment.

“One out of every five pesos in exports in Mexico is produced in one of these five States, it is estimated that as a group Guanajuato, Jalisco, Queretaro, Aguascalientes and San Luis Potosi produce the 10 per cent of the GDP and represent 15% of the work force of Mexico”, said Aguirre Lang.
