Teams from Guanajuato in the 2023 WER World Final in Shanghai, China had a notable participation
The Robonau team from CONALEP Guanajuato, Plantel Silao won the 4th international place

With the representation of 8 Mexican teams, on December 17, the world final of the World Educational Robot Contest -WER- 2023 was held with 494 teams from the High School and University categories from Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Philippines, Mexico and China.
The Guanajuato teams began their trip on December 14 to the Asian continent, 5 of them at the high school level and 3 more at the university level.
The teams are from the SABES High School, CONALEP Silao, CECyTE Guanajuato, the Higher Technological Institute of Purisima del Rincon and the Universidad Politecnica del Bicentenario they all went to this competition to boosting the name of Mexico and inspiring the world by putting into practice all the acquired skills.
Headquartered at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, WER 2023 is organized by the World Federation of Educational Robotics and sponsored by the company Abilix.
The Robonai team from CONALEP Silao, made up of students Axel Natael Martinez Ortega, Emilio Gustavo Gonzalez Magana, Luis Angel Roberto Medina Pulido and advised by Edgar Ivan Hernandez Rodriguez, had an outstanding participation in this grand final by obtaining fourth international place.
The Tesla team from the SABES High School March 18 was awarded the “Inspiration Award”, a recognition that is awarded to a single team from the entire competition, considering that they are an example of inspiration for other competitors and future participants. Resilience was the main value considered for this award, since the Tesla team, through robotics and WER, found motivation to continue their academic studies and their development in global competition.
The Tesla team is made up of students Kevin Efrain Rodriguez Silva, Fernando Amado Arriaga Lara, Rafael Vazquez Rojas and advised by Hector Flores Guevara.
In addition to the experience of participating in a world championship, the Mexican contingent visited Tianzifang, they walked along Huaihai Middle Road, as well as the Temple of the City of God, where they enjoyed the gastronomic culture of the Asian country, among other tourist places and activities.
