The government of Guanajuato, through the Secretary of Migrants and International Liaison, SMEI, reports that the relatives of Carlos Mendoza were located and contacted; Mendoza enlisted two months ago to fight in the war of Ukraine and Russia.
Susana Guerra, head of the State agency, said that, once the possible death of this person was revealed, communication was established with the Mexican consulate in that country and it was confirmed that he was original from Juventino Rosas.
“As a result of the latest communication with the mother of the Guanajuatense involved in this war and with the Mexican consulate in that country, we are informed that the battalion where her son was located suffered several casualties and that up to now her son is still missing”, informed Guerra.
The Official explained that for now the procedure to be followed by the Ukrainian military authorities will be to recover the bodies, then begin to identify each one, and then be able to return them to their municipality of origin.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Migrants and International Liaison said that meanwhile, she offered the family all the support of the State government, through the “Safe Path for Migrants” program.
“In these difficult moments, Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo has asked us to be close and help with everything they need, from documents, procedures, procedures before consulates or embassies, for the transfer of remains from abroad or funeral expenses”, said Guerra.
Guerra Vallejo said that the SMEI remains alert in case it is necessary to provide any kind of service in this case.
