Guadalupe-Reyes Security Operation begins

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, gave the starting signal for the Guadalupe-Reyes Operation 2024-2025.

The purpose of this operation is to safeguard the physical integrity and assets of people, as well as to provide a preventive service to visitors who travel on Guanajuato’s highways during the holiday period.

“The most important thing for this Government is to work for the People; in this Government, the people will always be the center. Today we are undertaking this operation with the highest commitment, with a firm conviction to protect the people of Guanajuato, to safeguard the integrity of our families,” said the Governor.

With these actions of the Guadalupe-Reyes operation, the Government of the People seeks to promote the participation of society and the agencies and institutions of the three levels of government in activities related to public safety, and prevention and attention to accidents and emergencies, during the winter vacation period 2024-2025.

“I would like to take this opportunity to publicly acknowledge the public servants who will be out on the streets during these holidays, taking care of people and sacrificing family time with a huge vocation to serve others and working precisely for what matters most in our State, which are the families of Guanajuato,” said Libia Dennise.

Participating in this operation are:

• The Secretary of Security and Peace, the Secretary of Government, the State Attorney General’s Office, the Secretary of Finance, the Secretary of Health of Guanajuato, the Secretary of the New Beginning, the Secretary of Economy, the Secretary of Public Works, the Secretary of Education, the Secretary of Water and Environment, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, the State DIF System of Gto, the State Civil Protection and the Emergency Service of the State of Guanajuato (SUEG)

Also participating are federal and municipal agencies, as well as associations and civil organizations like:

• The 12th Military Region, the 16th Military Zone, the National Guard in Guanajuato, the Guanajuato Delegation of the FGR, the National Intelligence Center, SEMARNAT, SICT in Guanajuato, the CONAGUA Direction in Guanajuato, CONAFOR, and CFE
• Also, municipalities participate with Public Safety and State Civil Protection departments, the Guanajuato State Firefighters Association, AC, Fire Departments in the State, the Mexican Red Cross, CAPUFE, Green Angels and Business Chambers and Councils

“Be sure that we will be working together with the municipalities and federal authorities to work to guarantee what is essential for us: that these are holidays that we can enjoy in peace and calm, surrounded by our families, and that citizens can do so calmly, knowing that the authorities are there to care for and look after them,” noted the Governor.

The State System and the Municipal DIF Systems will prepare spaces to be used as temporary shelters if necessary.

As part of the operation, devices will be implemented to prevent and deal with accidents on roads and highways.

There will be awareness campaigns on measures to prevent seasonal illnesses such as flu and influenza; prevention of accidents and emergencies caused by the use of fireworks; prevention of fires in vacant lots and pastures; prevention of vehicle accidents in cities, roads and highways; prevention of accidents and fires at home.

It is also planned to implement awareness campaigns on the prevention of theft and the commission of crimes and misdemeanors, as well as awareness campaigns on the non-consumption of alcohol and drugs.

Municipal, State and Federal Authorities were in the event where the Guadalupe-Reyes Operation was launched.
