Rehabilitation work begins on the “Miguel Hidalgo” City Market

On a working tour in this municipality, Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, started the 2024 Winter Campaign and supervised social infrastructure works, such as the rehabilitation of the City Market, the construction of a water well and the introduction of sanitary drainage services in surrounding communities.
To dignify the lives of everyone in Guanajuato, the People’s Government, through the Secretary of the New Beginning, began the expansion of sewage in the town of Mezquite Gordo in Romita.
The work consists of the introduction of 393.89 linear meters of pipe for 36 sanitary discharges with 6 manholes.
“We proposed that the State budget will reach those communities; that is why the sewage system that we started working on today will benefit the families in those communities,” said the Governor of Guanajuato.
The introduction of sewage will also be in the La Perla neighborhood and the La Nueva Paz de Dios borough, with a joint investment by the State and the Municipality of 4.3 million pesos.
More water for Romita
To bring water to more homes, the Secretary of Water and Environment is working on drilling and equipping a water well to supply the towns of Pedregal de Barroso, Pedregal de Rangel, Pedregal de Martinez and Los Angeles.
In the City of Romita, construction of the 3rd stage of the south-east sanitary drainage collector is already underway.
More than 20.8 million pesos were allocated to these actions to benefit more than 13 thousand Romitenses.
Winter Campaign 2024-2025 kicks off
The Mezquite Gordo community was the scene where the Governor launched the 2024-2025 Winter Campaign for the State System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family -DIF-, and the President of the State DIF, Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, was present.
“Today we are launching the Winter campaign, a campaign that seeks to warm hearts throughout Guanajuato,” said the Governor.
Libia said that 500 blankets will be delivered in each of the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato, totaling 23,000 items.
The People’s Government allocated 5 million 18 thousand 750 pesos to face the 2024-2025 winter season, in which 48 cold fronts and 7 winter storms are expected.
The GTO DIF System will deliver toys to girls and boys of the State of Guanajuato on the occasion of Three Kings Day in order to bring smiles.
“For us, giving away these toys encourages our children to imagine again and to get away from screens. Part of the game is to integrate families. I invite you to play with them,” said the President of the DIF.
The “Miguel Hidalgo” Market is remodeled
The Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, launched the works for the rehabilitation of the Municipal Market “Miguel Hidalgo”, for which 1.3 million pesos were allocated, of which 813 thousand pesos are State resources and the rest are Municipal.
“We are going to make this market more beautiful,” said Libia Dennise, who was with Mayor of Romita, Pedro Kiyoshi Tanamachi Reyes. The “Miguel Hidalgo” City Market will be waterproofed, painted, screens will be replaced and the food area will be renovated. These actions will directly benefit 40 tenants.
