“In this Government of the People, culture is very important as a transforming element of our society; it is culture that can help us rebuild the social fabric and work from the deepest roots of the human being and awaken our soul,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, in the program Connecting with the People.
The State Governor was with Lizeth Galvan Cortes, head of the State Secretary of Culture, who invited Guanajuatense artists to participate in the call to be part of the program of the 53rd edition of the International Cervantino Festival, to be held from October 10 to 26, 2025.
The objective of this call is to provide spaces for Guanajuatense talent and strengthen their artistic career, said the Governor of the People.
“If you want to be part of the Cervantino you have to register and, above all, be part of this great stage. If we receive artists and talent from other countries and states, imagine how we are going to promote the talent of our people from Guanajuato in this important space,” said Libia.
Performing arts professionals from Guanajuato who can demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience and verifiable residency in the State for the same period may participate.
The proposal on stage must be made up of at least 75% artists, which must be verified by the corresponding documentation.

In this edition of Connecting with the People, the Governor also emphasized that culture has to go out of theaters and museums to the neighborhoods, communities and all those places where people are.
In response to this request, the head of the Secretary of Culture referred to seven strategic axes that are implemented by the recently created state agency:
- Cultural Intelligence System
- Fund for Culture and the Arts of Guanajuato
- Cultural Mobility Program
- Cultural Clusters
- Popular Arts Laboratory
- Musical Winds for the People program
- Promotion of Cultural Heritage
In this regard, Governor Libia Dennise announced that the rehabilitation of the Alhondiga de Granaditas is being prepared, work that will be done with the National Institute of Anthropology and History, given the historical importance of this building.
