Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, inaugurated the Trends and Design Fashion Forum 2024, an international fashion and design event organized by the Guanajuato Fashion Cluster.
“This Forum, which brings together experts, favors the vision of going further in this sector and, above all, puts Guanajuato on the map, in this very important topic of creativity, art, design and fashion. You are an inspiration and the driving force that moves Guanajuato. Therefore, in this Government of the People, we are going to promote this Fashion Cluster that is so important for Guanajuato,” said Libia Dennise.
Trends and Design Fashion Forum is an event held as part of “November Fashion Month 2024”; and which brings together design experts and students, as well as businesswomen and businessmen from the fashion sector to share knowledge, trends and innovation in areas such as design, marketing, branding and brand development.
With the motto of strengthening the “November Fashion Month” strategy, it is positioned as a space of inspiration and development for the fashion and creativity industries of Guanajuato.
This event featured national and international speakers who excel in topics such as design, branding, and brand internationalization. For the 2024 edition, presentations focused on brand design, business intelligence, and strategies are expected.
In this way, the forum promotes competitiveness and job creation through innovation and training in the fashion sector. It also aims to innovate the design processes of leather, footwear, textile, and other segments, promoting the growth of local brands in national and international markets.
Trends and Design Fashion Forum is possible thanks to the initiative of CICEG (Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato), APIMEX (Association of Industrial Supplier Companies of Mexico), CICUR (Chamber of the Tanning Industry), CANAIVE Guanajuato (National Chamber of Clothing), which has the task of promoting and disseminating fashion made in Guanajuato.
Today, the fashion industry in Guanajuato ranks third in terms of GDP, below the automotive industry and agribusiness.
The Cluster integrates more than 19,507 economic units from:
- Leon, Purisima del Rincon, San Francisco del Rincon, Irapuato, Moroleon, Uriangato, Yuriria, Salamanca, Coroneo, San Jose Iturbide and San Luis de La Paz; from where more than 7.4% of the state GDP is generated
“I would like to congratulate all those who make this fashion design forum possible, which allows all this talent to come together today. Count on me to continue promoting local talent. Count on me, young people, to continue putting Guanajuato on the scenery of the world,” said the Governor in her inaugural message.
