Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, cut the inaugural ribbon of the HIHO Wheel Mexico company, dedicated to the production of automotive aluminum wheels.
“With the arrival of HIHO, Guanajuato is consolidated as one of the best destinations for investments in Mexico, as confirmed by the 127 investment attraction projects that we have achieved in the almost 5 years of this State Administration, which represent an investment of 6,254 million dollars and more than 47 thousand committed jobs”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“Thus we have surpassed the six-year goal of 5 billion dollars, and all this is possible, thanks to the trust of investors in Guanajuato,” said the Governor.
“Today again I want to thank HIHO Wheel for its trust in Guanajuato, as expressed during our visit to South Korea”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“Your arrival to our land is great news for Guanajuato and for the most important automotive cluster in Latin America,” added the Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo noted the great synergy, in training, that has been achieved with HIHO and the Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development –SDES-, by offering 113 training scholarships to workers so that they have the labor solvency required by the company to excel in the market and position and maintain the quality of products made in Guanajuato.
“Proudly, our State is already the first place in Mexico in vehicle production with a total of more than 725 thousand units, which represent 21.9 percent of the national total; that is, one of every five cars manufactured in Mexico comes out from Guanajuato. That’s why I say it with pride that you have arrived at the right place”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“The arrival of HIHO Wheel is also an excellent opportunity to strengthen the friendship and business relationship with the Republic of Korea,” said the Governor.
This plant is located in the Chuy Maria Industrial Park, in Apaseo El Grande, where the President of HIHO Mexico, Kwangseob Lee, said that they have a land of 90 thousand square meters and began the construction of the premises in the second half of 2021 and they began operations last July to serve automotive manufacturers in Guanajuato and Central Mexico.
It was announced that the second stage of the plant is scheduled for 2025, with an investment of 40 million dollars.
