The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the ceremony of the 215th Anniversary of the Call of Independence at the Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows.

Libia Dennise, from the doorway of the Dolores Parish, paid tribute to the beginning of the Insurgent movement and recalled Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla’s call to take up arms on the early morning of September 16, 1810.

In the atrium of the Parish, the Governor had the bell of Dolores ring and launched the harangue of the Call of Independence.

“Mexicans! Long live the heroes and heroines who gave us our homeland and Freedom! Long live Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla! Long live Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez! Long live Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon! Long live Leona Vicario! Long live Ignacio Allende! Long live Tomasa Estevez! Long live Juan Aldama and Long live Vicente Guerrero!

“Long live Gertrudis Armendariz and Manuela Taboada! Long live Maria Josefa Marmolejo and Maria Ignacia Rodriguez! Long live the Insurgent Women of Penjamo! Long live the Women who continue to build the Nation! Long live Dolores Hidalgo, the Cradle of National Independence! Long live Guanajuato! Long live Mexico! Long live Mexico! Long live Mexico!” called the Governor.

After the Call, the State Governor waved the flag and rang the bell. The National Anthem was then sung; the Governor handed the flag over to the Military Escort for safekeeping.
