Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, delivered the new section of Timoteo Lozano Boulevard, which connects Tajo de Santa Ana with La Laborcita Boulevard, a work that benefits thousands of Leonese.
“It is a pleasure to be delivering a project that will change the lives of many families,” said the Governor, who was with Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez Campos.
Libia Dennise stressed that this is a key stretch to help ease traffic on roads such as the Airport Boulevard. More than 6,400 vehicles travel on this stretch daily, which represents thousands of people benefitted.
Libia explained that travel times will be shortened, and this work also meets inclusion criteria, as it is designed for pedestrians and cyclists. The cycle paths and wide sidewalks allow people to move safely, whether walking or on bicycle.
The sidewalks also have special guides for blind people. The design and urban image of this boulevard have been carefully considered. Work has also been done on installing drinking water lines, sewers and public lighting, which improves the safety and well-being of families in this area of Leon.
More than 113 million pesos have been invested here by the State Government.
“This is one of many more projects that we will have in Leon. We are going to work for the People, because this is the Government of the People,” said the Governor.
The Secretary of Public Works of the State, Juan Pablo Perez Beltran, said that the Timoteo Lozano Boulevard, in its section from Tajo de Santa Ana to La Laborcita, was built with an investment of 113.5 million pesos; it covers a length of 1.79 kilometers, and has 6 lanes of traffic, 3 lanes in each direction with 3.50 meters wide each.
Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez, noted that teamwork with the State Government yields results in works like this; “and more actions are coming to improve the quality of life of the people of Leon.”
